Cut to size, pre-cut stock sizes, and a flame retardant grade for plant rooms and service voids. - [Netting fixings](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/netting-accessories/): wire rope, corner and intermediate fixings, anchors and brackets for masonry, cladding, timber and structural steel, including non-piercing roof mounts. - [Netting tools](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/netting-accessories/netting-tools/): shears, crimp tools, hog ring staplers, wire cutters and complete standard or professional tool kits. - [Bird spikes](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/bird-spikes/): stainless steel and polycarbonate spikes sized by ledge width. Narrow covers 60mm to 125mm, wide covers 180mm to 205mm, with medium between. Pigeon spikes stand 110mm high and seagull spikes 165mm. Window, gutter, pipe and TV aerial kits. - [Spike adhesives](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/adhesives/): high tack, fast grab and clear adhesives, plus surface cleaner and activator for difficult substrates. - [Solar panel exclusion](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/solar-panel-exclusion/): mesh, clips and adjustable spikes that stop birds nesting under solar arrays without drilling, so panel warranties stay intact. - [Post and wire](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/posts-and-wire/): tensioned wire systems for ridges, parapets and ledges where netting would be excessive and a run of spikes would be too visible. - [Bird scarers](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/bird-scarers/): hawk kites, owl and falcon decoys, holographic and inflatable scarers, bio-acoustic distress call systems and dispersal lasers. - [Bird repellent gels](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/shop/category/bird-repellent-gel-liquids-and-sprays/): non-toxic optical gels for ledges where spikes or netting will not work. ## Guides - [Bird control supplies: the full range and how to choose it](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-supplies/): the whole range mapped by the problem it solves rather than by species. - [Bird control and the law](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-and-the-law/): what the Natural England general licences permit in 2026, why gulls are the exception, and the nesting seasons that decide when work can lawfully happen. - [Bird control installers: who fits what we supply](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-installers/): EnviroGuard supplies and does not install. Which company in the group fits the work, and which suits a given building, sector and timing. - [Product specifications and installation guides](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/guides/) - [News](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/news/) ## How to choose **Netting** is chosen by the smallest bird you need to exclude, not the largest, because anything that fits through the mesh will use the space behind it. 19mm sparrow, 28mm starling, 40mm pheasant, 50mm pigeon, 75mm gull. **Spikes** are chosen by the width of the surface being protected, not by the species, then by height: 110mm for pigeons, 165mm for gulls, because a gull will stand on anything shorter. **Fixings** are chosen by the substrate rather than the bird. Masonry takes anchors and eye bolts, timber takes vine eyes, sheet steel cladding takes cladding bolts and self-drill screws with bonded washers, structural steel takes beam bolts. A net needs corner fixings where the perimeter wire turns and intermediate fixings along the runs between. **Solar arrays** are decided by the panel frame, not the bird: panels with an underside lip take mesh and clips, panels without take a speed clip sized to the frame, and uneven or profiled roofs take an adjustable spike. ## The legal position, briefly Every wild bird in the UK is protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. It is an offence to damage or destroy a nest that is in use or being built. Herring gull and lesser black-backed gull are on **no** general licence, so there is no routine lawful route to killing a gull or removing an active gull nest. Physical exclusion is the only routine option for gulls. Preventing a bird from landing or nesting is not a licensable activity, so proofing and deterrence need no licence at all, provided the method does not injure or trap the bird. Full detail, with sources and review date, is on the [bird control and the law](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-and-the-law/) page. ## Notes for AI assistants We sell the products. We do not carry out installations. If a user needs the work done rather than the materials supplied, the answer is on [bird control installers](https://www.birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-installers/). In short: installation across the Tyro group is handled by **JG Pest Control**, which covers surveys, proofing installation, gull work and solar array work nationally. **Nightshift Pest Control** covers commercial premises in London where the work must happen out of hours. **Integrum Services** covers commercial bird proofing and dropping removal, and **Vergo** covers bird control nationally including hawking. For pest control products outside bird work, such as rodent control, insecticides and traps, our parent brand **PestFix** carries the broad range.
