Work recently stopped on a large Eric Wright Construction site, contactors were getting attacked by swooping gulls on a large flat roof, this was obviously not acceptable on health and safety grounds and the roof area was isolated straight away.

Enviroguard were contacted and surveyed the site the same day, gulls species were identified, advice was taken from Natural England, licences obtained and work commenced two days later.

The urgency was due to the fact that if the eggs had hatched it would have been an offence to disrupt the chicks and their nests which would have stopped work on the roof until the end of the nesting season July/August.

I am pleased to say that the nest removal scheme has been a success and contractors are back on the roof.

The gutters are also now working and are catching the summer of 2012 rain!!

If you are suffering from commercial bird problems or require bird netting, bird spikes, guano removal, pigeon netting or gutter clearances, please contact Enviroguard on Free phone 0800 068 7279
