This policy explains how EnviroGuard collects and uses personal information when you visit birdcontrol.uk.com, buy from us, open a trade account, contact us or ask us to arrange installation. It also explains the cookies and similar technologies we use, and your rights under UK data protection law: the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Our trading terms are separate. You can read them on our Terms and Conditions page.
1. Who we are
birdcontrol.uk.com is run by Enviroguard (Northwest) Limited, trading as EnviroGuard Bird Control. We are a company registered in England, company number 06014377. Our registered office is Unit 1-3 Cedar Park, 30 Terminus Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 8GT. Our VAT number is GB 880 4172 25.
EnviroGuard is owned by PestFix (Crisp Websites Limited, company number 04600829, also at Cedar Park, Chichester), and both are members of the Tyro UK group of companies. EnviroGuard trades as its own brand and remains the data controller for this website. Where PestFix staff or systems help us run the business, for example customer service, accounts or IT, they handle your information on our behalf and only for the purposes in this policy.
For the personal information described in this policy, we are the data controller. That means we decide how and why it is used.
We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) as a data controller. Our registration number is ZA527957.
How to contact us about your data:
- Email: [email protected]
- Phone: 0800 068 7279

2. What we collect and why
The table sets out what we collect, why we use it and the lawful basis we rely on under the UK GDPR.
| What you do | What we collect | Why we use it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buy from us (with or without an account) | Name, company name (optional), billing and delivery addresses, phone number, email address, order details, any order notes you add | To process, deliver and support your order, send order and dispatch emails, and handle returns and queries | Contract: we need it to fulfil your order |
| Your invoices and order records | To keep accounting and tax records | Legal obligation | |
| Postcode you type into the address finder at checkout | To look up and fill in your address | Contract | |
| If you have accepted analytics cookies: how you reached the site for the visit that led to your order (for example the referring website or campaign tags, your first page, how many pages you viewed and your browser type). WooCommerce records this with the order. | To understand which channels bring us orders | Consent (see section 7) | |
| Start checkout but do not finish paying (for example, the payment page is closed or the payment fails) | Name, email address and the items in your unfinished order | To send you one reminder email, about 24 hours later, about the order you did not finish. You can refuse this at checkout or with the unsubscribe link in the email. See section 6. | Legitimate interests: reminding customers about an order they started. We send it under the "soft opt-in" rule in PECR. |
| Create an account | Name, email address, password (stored in encrypted form), saved addresses, order history | To give you access to your account and past orders, and make reordering quicker | Contract |
| Apply for a trade account | See section 4 | See section 4 | See section 4 |
| Contact us using the contact form, email or phone | Name, email address, your message and anything you choose to tell us. Our website also records the IP address and browser of the device used to send the form. | To answer your enquiry and keep a record of it, and to protect the form from spam and abuse | Legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us. Where your enquiry is about buying from us, we may also rely on taking steps at your request before a contract. |
| Request an installation quote | Name, phone number and/or email address, the property postcode, the type of job and any details you add | To pass your request to our recommended installer, JG Pest Control, so they can arrange your quote. See section 3. | Legitimate interests and steps you ask us to take: you asked for an installation quote and this is how we arrange it |
| Leave a product review | Name, email address, your review and rating, and the IP address of the device you use | To publish your review (your name and review are shown publicly; your email address is not) and to moderate reviews | Legitimate interests: sharing genuine customer feedback |
| Browse the website | Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and the time of your visit, collected by our hosting, security and content delivery services | To deliver the website securely and protect it from attacks, fraud and misuse | Legitimate interests: running a secure website |
| Analytics and advertising data collected through cookies, only if you accept them | To understand how the site is used and to measure our Google advertising | Consent (see section 7) | |
| If you have accepted analytics cookies and arrive from an AI assistant such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini or Claude: the page you landed on, the referring site and the time | To measure how many visitors reach us from AI assistants | Consent (see section 7) |
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
We do not knowingly collect information from children. Our products are sold for use by adults and businesses.
What happens if you don't provide information. We need the information marked as required at checkout or in our forms to fulfil your order or answer your request. Without it we may not be able to help.
3. Installation enquiries shared with JG Pest Control
EnviroGuard supplies bird control products. We do not install them ourselves. If you ask for an installation quote using the form on our site, we pass your request to our recommended installer, JG Pest Control. JG Pest Control is a trading name of JG Environmental Ltd (company number 07568726, registered office Andrews House, 61 Wallingford Road, Uxbridge, UB8 2RW), a sister company in the Tyro group.
- What is shared: your name, phone number and/or email address, the property postcode, the type of job, any details you type in, and the page you sent the form from. If you have accepted analytics cookies, we also share how you found our site: your first page, the referring site's address (domain only), the channel (for example search or advert) and your device type.
- How it is shared: the form sends your request directly to JG Pest Control's customer and enquiry system.
- What JG Pest Control does with it: JG Pest Control uses your details to contact you, survey the job and give you a quote. From that point JG Environmental Ltd is the data controller for your information. Its own privacy notice, at jgpestcontrol.co.uk/privacy-policy, explains how it handles your data.
- Any installation work is carried out and guaranteed by the installer, not by EnviroGuard.
If you would rather not have your details shared, please call JG Pest Control directly, or choose a different installer. We also mention Integrum Services and Vergo on our site, but we do not send them your details.
4. Trade accounts
If you apply for a trade account, we collect:
- your company name, trading name, trading address, phone number and company registration number (if a limited company), the year established and your main business activity
- the names of your purchasing and accounts contacts
- your bank name, account number and sort code
- two trade references, which may include the names and contact details of people at other businesses
- your name, email address, username and password, which we use to set up your website login (the password is stored in encrypted form)
- if you have accepted analytics cookies, how you found our site (your first page, the page you applied from, the channel and the referring site's domain, and your device type)
We use this to assess your application, decide whether to offer trade terms and credit ("Pay on Account"), set up and run your account, and collect payment.
Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, then performing the contract. For checking your application, references and creditworthiness, and for preventing fraud, we rely on legitimate interests. When we assess a trade application we may contact your trade referees and may use credit reference or other checks.
If you give us a referee's details, please let them know you have done so. We use their details only to contact them for a reference about your business.
Each application is reviewed and approved by hand before the account is activated.
5. Payments
Card payments, and PayPal payments where offered, are processed by Opayo (operated by Elavon Financial Services DAC) on its own secure payment pages. We never see or store your full card number. Opayo receives the order total, your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address and phone number, plus a summary of your basket. It uses this to process the payment, prevent fraud and meet its own legal duties, and it acts as a separate controller for some of these purposes. Opayo may email you a payment receipt. If you pay with PayPal, PayPal also processes your payment under its own privacy notice.
Approved trade customers can pay on account. We invoice them and record their payments in our accounting and order systems.
6. Marketing
We will email you about your orders, account and enquiries. These are service messages, not marketing.
Basket reminder. If you submit your order at checkout but do not complete payment (for example, you close the payment page or the payment fails), we may send you one reminder email about 24 hours later about the order you did not finish. We send this under the "soft opt-in" rule in PECR (regulation 22(3)), because you gave us your email address while buying from us, and we rely on our legitimate interests in reminding customers about an order they started. You can refuse it:
- at checkout, by ticking the box "Don't send me a reminder if I don't finish my order", or
- at any time, by using the unsubscribe link in the email or by contacting us using the details in section 1.
We send no other marketing emails or newsletters, and our checkout does not sign you up to any.
We use Google Ads to show adverts for our products. Advertising cookies are only set if you accept them (see section 7).
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies include browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) and scripts that send information back to a service. We ask for your consent before using any that are not strictly necessary.
Our cookie banner lets you accept or reject cookies that are not strictly necessary, or choose category by category:
- Necessary: needed for the website, basket, checkout and account areas to work, and to remember your cookie choice. These are always on.
- Functional: the Google map on our contact page.
- Analytics: Google Analytics 4, WooCommerce order attribution (how you reached the site, stored with any order you place) and our count of visits that arrive from AI assistants.
- Advertisement: Google Ads measurement and Click Guardian, which protects our Google adverts from fraudulent clicks.
Nothing in the Functional, Analytics or Advertisement categories runs until you accept it. You can change your choice at any time by selecting Cookie settings (or the "Manage consent" tab at the bottom of the page once you have made a choice).
The table lists the cookies and similar items we found on the site on 14 October 2026, and the banner category that controls each one.

Security service. Our content delivery and security provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived security cookie if it needs to check that traffic to the site is genuine. This is strictly necessary to protect the site.
Fonts. The fonts on our pages are hosted on our own website, so loading a page does not send your IP address to a font provider and no font cookies are set.
Managing cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, the basket, checkout and account areas will not work.
8. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is needed for the purposes above.

9. International transfers
Some of the providers above store or access data outside the UK, mainly in the United States. Where a provider transfers data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or the UK-US data bridge to protect it. Contact us if you would like more detail.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it.
