EnviroGuard supplies bird control products to the trade and to site, from UK stock, with next-day delivery. This page is the map of the range: what solves which problem, how to choose between the options, and where to go for the parts of pest control we do not cover.

The range at a glance

Choose by the problem, not by the bird

Most bird proofing decisions come down to the shape of the surface rather than the species sitting on it. A ledge takes something different from a courtyard, and a solar array takes something different again.

A ledge, sill, parapet or beam

Bird spikes. Chosen by the width of the surface: narrow covers 60mm to 125mm, wide covers 180mm to 205mm, with medium between. Pigeon spikes stand 110mm high and seagull spikes 165mm, because a gull will stand on anything shorter. Stainless steel for exposed and coastal work, polycarbonate where it needs to disappear against light stonework.

A whole opening: courtyard, light well, loading bay, canopy

Bird netting, cut to size or from stock, with the fixings, wire rope and tensioners that carry it. Netting excludes a volume rather than a line, which is what makes it the answer when a bird has somewhere to get into rather than somewhere to land.

A ridge or parapet where the look matters

Post and wire. Nearly invisible from the ground, which is why it is the usual specification on frontages, listed buildings and anywhere a run of spikes would be the thing people notice.

A surface that cannot take a fixing

Repellent gels. Applied in beads to a ledge, non-toxic, and low profile enough for signage and entrances where spikes would look wrong.

Under a solar array

Solar panel exclusion. The choice is decided by the panel frame, not the bird: panels with an underside lip take mesh and clips, panels without take the Solar Mesh Speed Clip in 30mm, 35mm or 40mm, and uneven or profiled roofs take the Solarguard adjustable spike. Nothing is drilled, so the panel warranty is untouched.

A chimney

Chimney protection, caps and cowls, fitted outside the nesting season. Jackdaws start early in the year, so this is autumn and winter work.

Open ground, crops, landfill, marinas and roofs

Bird scarers. Visual scarers and hawk kites for open ground, bio-acoustic distress call systems for commercial and industrial sites, and dispersal lasers where the setting suits them.

Know the law before you specify anything

Every wild bird in the UK is protected, and gulls are not covered by any general licence, so exclusion is the only routine lawful route for gull work. Nesting season decides the timing of everything else. We have set the position out in full: bird control and the law.

Where the rest of the range lives

EnviroGuard is bird only, and deliberately so. EnviroGuard was acquired by PestFix and the two brands are run separately: we are the bird control specialist, and our parent PestFix carries the broad pest control range from the same Chichester address, rodent control, insecticides, traps, PPE and the rest, on the same next-day delivery. If you have arrived here looking for something that is not a bird product, that is where it will be.

If you need it fitted rather than supplied

We supply the parts. We do not carry out installation, and we would rather say so plainly than take an enquiry we cannot serve.

Bird control installation across the Tyro group is handled by JG Pest Control, the group’s bird division, which covers proofing and deterrent installation, gull work and solar panel bird proofing nationally.

For commercial premises in London where the work has to happen out of hours or discreetly, Nightshift Pest Control covers that end, including falconry.

Elsewhere in the group, Integrum Services covers commercial bird proofing and dropping removal, and Vergo covers bird control nationally including hawking. All are sister companies within the same group.

Trade accounts

If you are fitting bird proofing for a living, a trade account gets you trade pricing across the range. Everything on this site is held in UK stock and despatched for next-day delivery to trade and to site.
