Bird Netting
Industry-standard bird proof netting cut to size.
Keep birds away effectively and humanely with our bird proof netting. These bird nets prevent urban pest birds from settling and roosting in areas prone to infestation. For bespoke requirements, we offer cut-to-size (to the nearest metre)
Which mesh size for which bird. Netting is chosen by the smallest bird you need to exclude, because anything that fits through the mesh will use the space behind it. Sparrow netting is 19mm, starling 28mm, pheasant 40mm, pigeon 50mm and seagull 75mm. Where two species share a site, specify for the smaller one.
Cut to size or stock size. Cut to size is made to the nearest metre for a specific opening, which is the usual choice for a courtyard, light well, loading bay or canopy. Pre-cut stock sizes are quicker and cheaper wherever a standard rectangle will do the job.
Flame retardant where fire risk matters. The same nets are made in a flame retardant HDPE that shrinks away from a flame, limiting falling molten debris and slowing fire spread. Specify it in plant rooms, service voids and anywhere a fire strategy applies.
The material. All of it is knotted polyethylene, UV stabilised for use in direct sunlight, chemically inert, and it does not absorb water, so it will not stretch or rot through a British winter.
What else the job needs. A net is only as good as its perimeter. Allow for wire rope around the opening, fixings matched to the substrate, and one barrel strainer per ten linear metres of wire, so the net can be re-tensioned later rather than replaced when it starts to sag.
EnviroGuard supplies the parts and does not install. If the job needs fitting, bird control installation across the Tyro group is handled by JG Pest Control, with Nightshift covering out-of-hours commercial work in London. Our bird control installers page at birdcontrol.uk.com/bird-control-installers sets out who covers what.
