Description
Which gutter spikes stop seagulls and pigeons?
If gulls are landing on your gutter, choose this seagull spikes gutter kit, because gulls need the taller seagull spike and pigeon spikes will not stop them. If only pigeons use the gutter, our pigeon spike gutter kits are the lower cost choice and come in narrow, medium and wide widths to match the gutter. Both kits clip onto the outer lip of the gutter, so there is no drilling and no glue, and rainwater still runs freely underneath.
Who this kit is for
This kit suits homeowners, landlords and trade fitters who need to stop gulls perching, roosting or nesting along a rainwater gutter. It is a complete 1 metre kit, so you order one kit for each metre of gutter and you do not need adhesive.

How to fit seagull spikes to a gutter
Our bird spike fitting guide covers gutters step by step. In short:
- Check the gutter for active nests first, and clear out any old nesting material and droppings.
- Snap the gutter clips onto the base of the seagull spike strip, one clip at each end of each strip.
- Slide the clipped strip into place over the outer lip of the gutter. There is no glue, so the spikes sit above the gutter and water flows underneath.
- Butt the strips up to each other with no gaps, and take them right to the ends of the run so gulls cannot land beside them.
You can lift the spikes off to clear the gutter and clip them back on afterwards.
Are seagull spikes taller than pigeon spikes?
Yes. Our seagull spikes are 165mm high, against 110mm to 112mm for our pigeon spikes, because gulls need the extra height rather than simply a wider spike.
Do I need the half round or the ogee seagull gutter kit?
Choose the kit named for your gutter profile. If you are not sure which you have, call us free on 0800 068 7279 before you order.
How many seagull gutter kits do I need?
One kit covers 1 metre of gutter, so measure the run you want to protect and order one kit per metre. A 6 metre gutter needs 6 kits, which is £49.92 for half round or £53.34 for ogee, including VAT.
Will gutter spikes block my gutter?
No. The clips hold the spikes on the outside of the gutter rather than in the bottom of it, so rainwater runs freely underneath.
Can I fit seagull spikes to a gutter without drilling?
Yes. The kit fixes with clips only. If you need more clips, gutter clips are sold separately for half round or ogee gutters, in packs of 6 or 60.

All wild birds, including gulls and feral pigeons, are protected by law, so check for active nests before you fit anything and never disturb one. Our page on bird control and the law explains what you can and cannot do.
