Gulls stand taller than pigeons, so gull work needs gull-scale parts. Spikes are 165mm rather than 110mm, because a gull will stand on anything shorter, and netting is 75mm.
Roofs, ridges, parapets and chimney stacks are the usual sites, and the work belongs before spring. Once a nest is in use the lawful options narrow sharply and usually reduce to waiting.
This is the species where the law matters most. Herring gull and lesser black-backed gull are on no general licence, so there is no routine lawful route to killing a gull or to removing an active gull nest, including on your own roof. Physical exclusion is not the cautious option here, it is the only one.
